Wonderland...

This earth was created to inhabit and create life. I believe that we all serve a purpose and that we all have a choice. Life is all about choices; the right and wrong. We all reach a crossroads throughout our journey in life and whether we go left or right all depends on us. We subconsciously make decisions everyday to evoke action. Sometimes we have to take the road less traveled to get to where we need to be. Your destiny may be right in your grasp but it is completely up to you to acknowledge and let that destiny manifest.

This world consist of billions of people along with a myriad of things to do and see. Only an ignorant person would say they have done it all but a wise man in his travels knows that there is much more to life that is unbeknownst. You have got to be fearless and face the world ready to learn and explore the many things life has to offer. I always say "Be Blessed and Dress to Impress". That is something to live by. You never know what you may encounter on your journey through life.

Lately I have been hearing the term "YOLO" (You Only Live Once) being used as an excuse to do things that aren't necessarily concur to the norms of society. I do agree with the fact that you do indeed "only live once" but will the decisions you make tarnish your reputation or (God forbid) your well being. Remember this saying while you're out there in the world: "YODO" (You Only Die Once). Be mindful of the choices that you make and how it may affect your present and most importantly; your future.

I hope you think about this article when you come across a fork in the road. May you have faith and reap all of the joy and love that the world has to offer.

Hello February...

Valentines Day, Black History Month, Shortest month on the calendar..

I could ramble about how much I love/hate Valentines day and I could waste my time talking about how we only give 28 (29 due to leap year this year) days to recognize black excellence. I could..I should.. I can.. BUT I won't. I celebrate everyday I'm alive. I give love to those who deserve it and I show respect to my brethren when I feel it has been earned. This month is a month to be inspired by those who paved the way for the likes of you and I to be great.

A few African Americans who inspire me are of course Barack & Michelle Obama, Kanye West, Kerry Washington, Arthur Ashe, Phyllis Hyman etc.. They all have their own unique stories; I'm still writing mine. I hope to inspire others to be fearless and go out and push their dreams forward. That's my goal.

Most of my readers know how I feel about love. If you're new click here.. http://duhhebadd.blogspot.com/2012/01/love.html
I'll let my readers in on a little dirty secret.. despite how I feel about love.. I LOVE it! I love, love. I like this time of the month actually. I like the tacky teddy bears and the chocolate filled hearts covered strawberries. I love the feeling in the air when I step out into the city to see all the couples going out to rekindle their flame and to celebrate the love they have for each other. I LOVE that shit! Will I have a Valentine? We Will see.

So here we are in February... A fresh start for many. Kind of like a second new year for some. I welcome you with open arms. Lets see what you've got in store for us February.

The Reality of.. OZ?

We all know about the infamous movie "The Wizard of Oz" but lets have peek beyond the surface of each character.

Lets start with the cowardly lion. The poor lion was a beast with no courage. That's like having the nicest dick game in the world but too shy to get at the girls. My solution for the lion is to simply grow some balls. Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.. not at the end of the rainbow. But lion, your alright in my book... with ya asexual ass.
Next up is the tin man himself. Now the tin man is a pure klutz but desired a heart. Some say he just wanted to be loved.. but how can someone as cold as "tin" be capable of loving another (socially speaking). Who needs a heart when a heart can be broken.. My solution for the tin man is to just be the cold hearted bachelor you were meant to be.
Here's to the scarecrow. Now, the scarecrow is a smart man.. and he didn't even have a brain. But out of all things he could have wished for... he wished for a brain. Maybe he wanted to learn about new things, further his education at the local Emerald City Community College or even the University of Oz. The scarecrow already had courage and learned early on that a heart isn't necessary when your already living. My solution for the scarecrow is to go all the way and get ya masters/doctorate.
Last but definitely not least is Mrs. Dorothy. Dorothy just wanted to go home and we can all relate to that. It's hard being thrown into a new world complete with villages of little people, green witches, flying monkeys and trees that fight back... not to mention the characters above! We have all been somewhere or stuck in a predicament where we wish we could just click our heels together 3 times to send ourselves back to the norms and realities that are routine for us. Unfortunately life doesn't quite work like that all the time. My solution for Dorothy is to either deal with the situation or hop in that Aston Martin and be on to the next.

Now if I was thrown in some crazy world such as OZ and told to "follow the yellow brick road" just make sure my feet are fly..

Update.

Photobucket

Well it's a new year and lately I have been feeling a little distant from the rest of the world. It feels as if I have to take a step back reexamine friends, relationships, my work, my happiness and overall progress as a whole. It's funny how people say new year, new attitude because now it seems I have to reintroduce myself to those who I have known for years. Even the ones I have known for shorter amounts of time have turned the tides on me. Was I blind all of last year? Do I just ignore the big change? And then it hits me. Why am I so concerned and caring about those who don't give two shits about me? Let's just call it my "Aha moment".

As far as friends are concerned I have always felt light years ahead of my peers; more so when it comes down to my maturity level. I love my friends and I'm thankful for those I know will always be there. You can not call everyone your friend. It's always better to have one good friend than to have a lot of sharks in your tank. As for my personal relationships...well they have become headaches and although you can not control who you love you can control who you sleep with. I'm just saying.

I'm ready to quit my job and start something new. Hey, it's a new year right? I'm willing to make the ultimate sacrifice for my happiness. It's time to take control of what I want and more so, what I deserve. This is not just a new year... it's my life. It's in God's hands. The horse blinders are off, so are the gloves and everything else. I'm ready to take Renard to a new level of existence.

That's just where I am today,
