The Reality of.. OZ?

We all know about the infamous movie "The Wizard of Oz" but lets have peek beyond the surface of each character.

Lets start with the cowardly lion. The poor lion was a beast with no courage. That's like having the nicest dick game in the world but too shy to get at the girls. My solution for the lion is to simply grow some balls. Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.. not at the end of the rainbow. But lion, your alright in my book... with ya asexual ass.
Next up is the tin man himself. Now the tin man is a pure klutz but desired a heart. Some say he just wanted to be loved.. but how can someone as cold as "tin" be capable of loving another (socially speaking). Who needs a heart when a heart can be broken.. My solution for the tin man is to just be the cold hearted bachelor you were meant to be.
Here's to the scarecrow. Now, the scarecrow is a smart man.. and he didn't even have a brain. But out of all things he could have wished for... he wished for a brain. Maybe he wanted to learn about new things, further his education at the local Emerald City Community College or even the University of Oz. The scarecrow already had courage and learned early on that a heart isn't necessary when your already living. My solution for the scarecrow is to go all the way and get ya masters/doctorate.
Last but definitely not least is Mrs. Dorothy. Dorothy just wanted to go home and we can all relate to that. It's hard being thrown into a new world complete with villages of little people, green witches, flying monkeys and trees that fight back... not to mention the characters above! We have all been somewhere or stuck in a predicament where we wish we could just click our heels together 3 times to send ourselves back to the norms and realities that are routine for us. Unfortunately life doesn't quite work like that all the time. My solution for Dorothy is to either deal with the situation or hop in that Aston Martin and be on to the next.

Now if I was thrown in some crazy world such as OZ and told to "follow the yellow brick road" just make sure my feet are fly..

Love.

Love is a curse.
An emotion that is unorthodox and unstoppable.
And in life... Love will forever break your heart.
                                                          - Renard

In the previous post I stated that you can't control who you love... and that is true. All of us experience and express our love in different ways. I would like to believe that everyone has a happy ending and that love comes as easy as it sounds, but the reality of it is that it's far from that. Love is just one emotion of many. You have to deal with all these crazy emotions on a day to day basis. You can however, control how long you want to hold a grudge, you can control how angry you allow yourself to get and you can control your happiness.

In life, when you find the one you can see yourself being with for the long haul, there are expectations. You expect your significant other to communicate with you, tell you the truth, be there when you need them and most importantly, demonstrate their love for you everyday. Unfortunately it doesn't always go that route. Loving someone will make you cry, make you feel pain worse than when you first fell off your bike .. love will drive you insane and love will downright break your heart.

Whether your looking for it or have already found it.. hold onto your love! Save it for the one you know will value everything about you. Not everyone is privileged, deserving or has the luxury to experience your love. And if you've found love.. keep it close. The heart is too delicate to be broken. There's no cure for a broken heart.

love is complicated.

Update.

Photobucket

Well it's a new year and lately I have been feeling a little distant from the rest of the world. It feels as if I have to take a step back reexamine friends, relationships, my work, my happiness and overall progress as a whole. It's funny how people say new year, new attitude because now it seems I have to reintroduce myself to those who I have known for years. Even the ones I have known for shorter amounts of time have turned the tides on me. Was I blind all of last year? Do I just ignore the big change? And then it hits me. Why am I so concerned and caring about those who don't give two shits about me? Let's just call it my "Aha moment".

As far as friends are concerned I have always felt light years ahead of my peers; more so when it comes down to my maturity level. I love my friends and I'm thankful for those I know will always be there. You can not call everyone your friend. It's always better to have one good friend than to have a lot of sharks in your tank. As for my personal relationships...well they have become headaches and although you can not control who you love you can control who you sleep with. I'm just saying.

I'm ready to quit my job and start something new. Hey, it's a new year right? I'm willing to make the ultimate sacrifice for my happiness. It's time to take control of what I want and more so, what I deserve. This is not just a new year... it's my life. It's in God's hands. The horse blinders are off, so are the gloves and everything else. I'm ready to take Renard to a new level of existence.

That's just where I am today,

Hello 2012...

I hope everyone has had a very merry Christmas and I wish everyone a prosperous year.

The year of 2011 has been a roller coaster ride for me and I'm glad it has finally came to an end. I've made it over the hill and survived all of the twists and turns and I'm grateful to still be here... To live to see another day. The holiday season is all about the celebration of life. When the clock strikes midnight marking the end of a year; everything comes full circle.

Everything that has happened in 2011 simply becomes a thing of the past. Time to start anew... time to create new memories and celebrate being alive. Whether you watch the ball drop live in Times Square or watched it live in the comfort of your own home we all know that the dropping of the ball symbolizes hope for a better tomorrow and the rebirth of mankind.

As we bid farewell to 2011 I couldn't help but think of all that I have accomplished and what great things lie ahead. Know that you can make a difference in someones life. Know that you are beautifully human and most importantly, know that you are loved. Take a deep breath and breathe new life into 2012.

Until tomorrow comes, take care for now.

Shaken...Not Stirred

Photobucket

I have had a rough week... in fact it seems that I had a beautiful nightmare. One of those weeks where you want to repeatedly pinch yourself to see if it's real. On Monday I got a phone call that I just landed a position at a new job and that same night I was robbed at gunpoint. #KanyeShrug. I hope they needed it more than I did.

All I can say is that it is good to be alive. A phone and a wallet are replaceable. It's just metal, leather and a few strips of plastic. I still have my health, my new job, great friends and family and most importantly my life. This is just another road block that I have encountered and conquered in life. In this jungle we live in where the monkeys roam free, the hyenas never sleep and the vultures linger around to pluck whatever is left of humanity the only thing we can really do is survive.

Jay and Ye weren't lying. There is No Church in the Wild. Let's just say I'm a firm believer in karma and there is no doubt that we get back what we put into this life. I'm over it. People...I swear, need to get themselves some business and stay out of mine. I'm singing in my head "If I ruled the world"..

Until tomorrow comes take care for now,

Land of the Misfit Hoes.

In a world where celebrities are looked at as deities instead of regular human beings such as ourselves I see why it is easy to lose touch with "reality". I think it starts when we're all young. Disney makes movies with happy endings.  You know the whole song and dance... princesses always have the picture perfect lives with just the right amount of drama to keep them busy until they find prince charming. But what if Ciderella didn't go to the ball? Would she have gotten a 9-5 and bought her own glass slippers RED BOTTOMS?Photobucket

Everyone wants the glamorous life complete with a closet full of expensive things, a successful man to take care of them and a myriad of people that follow and answer every beck and call. Who wouldn't like that? To be honest, I would love designers begging to dress me. All I would have to do is go out to eat at some fancy restaurant and get paid. Everything would come easy. My cardio would consist of me lifting my finger to swipe my black card...with no credit limit.

You have girls who are famous for just being famous like Amber Rose, Paris Hilton, and Kim Kardashian. The only difference is that they have connections, a good stylist, scandal, a banging body and most importantly MONEY. Kim K is all over the media because of her failed marriage fluke to Kris Humphries. Let's face it, Kris Humphries got got. Although I do have a ton of respect for Kim for milking the media tit for as long as she did. The girl got paid big time. All she has to do is continue to keep folk interested by doing the least. I can't knock her grind... she has earned it by sucking and fucking her way to the top. Kim K... girl.. I'm just "Keeping it Real".

I guess reality stars and media whores can teach us all a lesson and that is if they aren't talking about you then you must be doing something wrong. So until I get to where I'm going I'm gonna grind until my goals are fulfilled and dreams become reality.
